The Seattle Wassail has become a tradition among the Morris Dancers of the region. Local sides and visitors from Portland join us each year to Wassail the apple trees around the Seattle area including Meridian Park in Wallingford and Piper’s Orchard in Carkeek park. We are partial to our Cider so it’s important for us to take care of the fruit trees, ensuring they will bear fruit for the coming year and, of course, next years Cider harvests!
If you’d like to join us for our next Wassail, or have some Apple Trees that need Wassailing be sure to check back here towards the end of the year. If you’d like us to try and fit your trees into our tour be sure to contact us by the middle of October as we begin to plan the event.
In January 2013 we were joined by Mosseyback Morris Men, North by Northwest, Bridgetown Morris and Renegade Rose Morris from Portland and even a handful of Black Sheep from Canada.
