The Seattle Wassail has become a tradition among the Morris Dancers of the region. Local sides and visitors from around the Pacific Northwest join us each year to Wassail the apple trees in Seattle, including Meridian Park in Wallingford and occasionally Piper’s Orchard in Carkeek park. We are partial to our Cider so it’s important for us to take care of the fruit trees, ensuring they will bear fruit for the coming year and, of course, next years Cider harvests!
The 2014 Wassail will take place on January 11th with a schedule as follows.
- Brie’s House 11:00am – 12:15pm
- Liz’s House 12:45pm – 2:00pm
- Meridian Park, Public Performance! 2:30pm – 3:30pm
Between 46th and 50th on Meridian in Wallingford. Convene at the North East end of the park under the apple trees.
- Kimberly and Dave’s House – 3:45pm – 5:00pm
- Dan’s House – 5:30pm – 6:45pm
- Kangaroo and Kiwi Public house – 7:00pm until we drop!
We would like to invite anyone to join us for the public performance and wassailing of the apple trees at Meridian Park in Wallingford!
